Speaking up against our would be soviet overlords.
~311,591,917 Population (in 2011)
~237,744,633 Over 18 (in 2011)
61,218,820 (25.75%) voted Obama
58,200,593 (24.48%) voted Romney
118,325,220 (49.77%) voted neither
Romney got fewer votes then McCain in 2008. Obama got fewer votes them himself in 2008.
Since the population increased since 2011, the "neither" category should actually be somewhat larger,
most likely breaking the 50% barrier.
A sizeable group of both romney and obama voters must have also thought they are voting for the "lesser evil"
or "the shinier of two turds". This further increases the amount of the population who hates both parties.

I thought the 2012 census was the first one over three hundred million but it seems I was in error. If these statistics continue and I see no reason why they shouldn’t, the middle should be well over the 50 percentile considering all the crap already set in motion (Bush tax cuts, OB care etc.) and maybe then we can start electing people who are actually interested more in helping The people than helping The party. Shinier of two turds just has a ring to it (LOL).

PS - me too!

That should be "shinier of two turds".

Definitely a lessor of two evils guy here.

Out of curiosity, what is it that you disliked about each?

I would say those that are and have been in control of both parties for the past 40 years and more for starters. Tar and feathers sounds good to me. Until there is a penalty to suit the crimes against the people of this country, they will continue to rob us blind and we will continue to regress. If what we have now goes for a democratic republic, then we are already lost.

There is a leak in the dam.

The policy discussions revolving around it had two options.   "Let's let it keep leaking, and try to make it leak more."  or "Let's try to make it leak a little less."

Neither of the major candidates cared enough about this country to want to fix the leak.

I think George Carlin hit this on the head. If this election taught me anything, it is that it just doesn’t matter which ass you vote for, the biggest one usually wins. What is the point in bitching about the individuals in power, they didn’t just pop out of the sky prepackaged. They went to the same schools in the same country and learned to be deviants in the same environment that good wholesome consciences folk come from and they are elected by ignorant people and the lifelong leaches of this country with the full knowledge that their liar is just so much better than the other liar, give me a break.
