Speaking up against our would be soviet overlords.

I played the demo fine, but when I bought the full game and tried to run it I started getting this error, saying "Debugger Detected [97]" and the only button available is "ok".

What is going on and why can't I play the game?

Did you uninstall the demo version before installing the full version? This can often cause conflicts in many types of software. If not please try uninstalling, restarting your machine, reinstalling via Impulse, and even restarting one more time to clear the cache and be safe. Let us know here or through support@stardock.com if you have further troubles.

Gumboy error:

Sorry! Though it said Gumby!

I uninstalled gumboy (the full version, the demo has already been removed sometime in the past). Checked to see if there were left over files (there weren't, the directory was gone), Restarted the computer, and then reinstalled it. And it still gives me the same error.

I'm afraid that from here on out the support would have to come from the developer. You can find them here:

I tried, their tech support is done through their own forums. I registered for the forums:
http://forums.cinemaxdev.com/viewforum.php?f=17

First, I noticed there is not a SINGLE post in the entire forum... then I realised why, there is no button to post. It lists my forum permissions, saying I have a right to post, but there is no actual button to do so.

My apologies for the trouble in this. Since we are not the publisher of the game (just the seller) there isn't much that Stardock support can do. However Erk seems to have your back in this.

taltamir,

I, too have experienced the "debugger detected" error. In my case, I did not have a previously-installed demo to deal with--just a fresh install of the full game--so demo "remnants" definitely weren't the cause. It may be a Vista thing. When I installed the program on WinXP, everything workerd fine, but on Vista, nope. I changed the compatibility settings on the program to WinXP, but that didn't help. I tried emailing cinemax support a week ago, but I've heard nothing from them yet.

Just thought you should know that you're not alone with this problem. I'm still searching for a solution on this one...

Thanks for the info azinck. I also emailed their support on 08-24. So, 11 days ago or so. And still no response.

still no reply from their support.

I have the not so strange suspecion that it is some sort of DRM...

I sent them an email on 8-24 (it is now 9-24), no response. I resent it to all three emails listed above (instead of just support). Hopefully I will get a reply this time.

I send support an email one month ago (8-24) and I got no response, so this time I am emailing all three departments instead of just support.

I brought it up with stardock at first (since I bought gumboy through impulse), they refered me to you:

1. I can't run gumboy crazy adventure. The demo ran fine, but when I bought and installed the full game it will not run, instead giving me an error window:
Error: Debugger Detected [97]

I tried reinstalling it and it did not solve the problem.

Also, I registered to your forums to report the issue there, and could not. The forums have exactly 0 posts, by anyone. It tells me I have permission to post, but it does not have an actual button to post a new topic

Here is the original thread in which I corresponded with stardock: http://forums.impulsedriven.com/321559
